چکیده

Aims. We investigate how different mid-infrared (mid-IR) properties of galaxies are correlated with the environment in which located. For this purpose, we first study dependence galaxy clustering on absolute magnitude at 3.4 μm and redshift. Then, look into environmental mid-IR luminosities derived from these luminosities. also explore various IR luminosity selections influence measurements. Methods. used a set W 1 (3.4 μm) ( M ) selected samples Galaxy Mass Assembly (GAMA) survey matched Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) redshift range 0.07 ≤ z < 0.43. computed two-point correlation function (2pCF) compared lengths between subsamples binned measured marked (MCF), weighted by marks when measuring statistics, using WISE to 4 22 bands as marks. Additionally, measurements MCFs estimates stellar mass star formation rate (SFR) Finally, checked applied sample affect Results. show strong magnitude: brighter band more strongly clustered than their fainter counterparts. observe lack significant that although 2 direct indicators mass, based or does not perfectly behaviour mass-selected sample. The proxy relation 3 SFR is similar. demonstrate estimation techniques

Galaxy And Mass Assembly (GAMA)

The GAMA survey aims to deliver 250,000 optical spectra (3–7Å resolution) over 250 sq. degrees to spectroscopic limits of rAB < 19.8 and KAB < 17.0 mag. Complementary imaging will be provided by GALEX, VST, UKIRT, VISTA, HERSCHEL and ASKAP to comparable flux levels leading to a definitive multi-wavelength galaxy database. The data will be used to study all aspects of cosmic structures on 1kpc t...

Implications for Early Galaxy Assembly

We present an analysis of the structures, sizes, star formation rates, and local environmental properties of galaxies at z ∼ 4 − 6 (τuniverse < 2 Gyr), utilising deep Hubble Space Telescope imaging of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field. The galaxies we study are selected with the Lyman-break drop-out technique, using galaxies which are B-,V-, and i−drops, which effectively selects UV bright starbursti...

Galaxy-galaxy-galaxy lensing: Third-order correlations between the galaxy and mass distributions in the Universe

Abstract. Galaxy-galaxy lensing (GGL) measures the 2-point cross-correlation between galaxies and mass in the Universe. In this work we seek to generalise this effect by considering the third-order correlations between galaxies and mass: galaxy-galaxy-galaxy lensing. Third-order correlations in the cosmic shear field have recently been reported in the VIRMOS-DESCART and CTIO surveys. Such data ...

Mass Distribution in Our Galaxy

This article summarizes recent work on the luminosity and mass distribution of the Galactic bulge and disk, and on the mass of the Milky Way’s dark halo. A new luminosity model consistent with the COBE NIR data and the apparent magnitude distributions of bulge clump giant stars has bulge/bar length of ' 3.5 kpc, axis ratios of 1:(0.3-0.4):0.3, and short disk scale-length (' 2.1 kpc). Gas-dynami...
